Armenia’s crisis management center handles 293 calls in one week
The National Center for Crisis Management of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations responded to a total of 293 calls from 11 to 17 May, of which 117 were emergency cases.
The number included 30 fire calls, 5 collapses, 2 rockfalls, one case of severe hailstorm, 54 road traffic accidents, 11 suicide attempts, as well as 111 household calls, which affected 94 people. One citizen was saved as a result of rescue operations.
The past week also saw 9 poisoning cases affecting 12 citizens.
The crisis management center reported a total of 6 fatalities on May 11-17.
A total of 13 vehicles ended up stuck over the past week amid bad weather. Rescuers provided assistance to 44 citizens, taking 15 vehicles to a safe place.
The ministry urges people to be as vigilant as possible and strictly observe all safety rules.
