Armenians not wearing masks in public places may face fines of 10.000 drams
The Armenian parliament approved in the first reading the legislation imposing fines up to 10,000 AMD on those who fail to wear a mask in public palaces. The relevant amendments were made to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Armenia and were approved by 92 in favor and one opposing votes.
New rules will come into force after the final reading and will legally require citizens to wear face masks on public transport and the public places.
The measure is adopted to help combat coronavirus as the country eased the lockdown rules from May 18, reopening businesses and resuming public transport among other things.
