Iran's confirmed COVID-19 cases hit 126,949
The Iranian health ministry on Wednesday reported 2,346 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number in the country to 126,949 since the outbreak in late February, Xinhua reported citing the local state TV.
Kianush Jahanpur, head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said 64 patients died over the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 7,183.
Jahanpur updated the number of recovered people to 98,808, adding that 2,673 are still under intense care in hospitals.
The number of lab tests administered across the country stands at 731,213 as of Wednesday.
