Court hearing in case of Kocharyan and others postponed for several reasons
The court hearing in the case of Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and three other former top officials had to be postponed on Tuesday for a number of reasons.
Referring to a notice by Izmirlian Medical Center, presiding judge Anna Danibekyan said that Kocharyan could not attend the hearing due to health issues, adding it was not clear when he would recover.
The judge said that Erik Aleksanyan, the lawyer of former head of the Armenian president's office Armen Gevorgyan, had filed a motion to the court, asking it to postpone the hearing due to the coronavirus-related situation in the country.
In addition, former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan’s lawyers Inesa Petrosyants and Karen Mezhlumyan had notified the court that Inesa Petrosyants had tested positive for Covid-19.
The next court hearing has been scheduled for June 9.
