Housing problem of 185 Armenian families deported from Azerbaijan to be solved
By Wednesday’s decision of the Armenian government, the second stage of the housing program for people deported from Azerbaijan has launched.
Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan said a total of 2,169,750,000 drams will be spent on solving the housing problem of families living in temporary shelters in Kentron, Erebuni, Nor Nork, Arabkir and Davitashen administrative districts of Yerevan.
The minister said that in the previous stage in 2019 1.5 billion drams were allocated to solve the housing problem of 112 families. According to Papikian, by this decision 185 families will be provided with apartments.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan asked the minister how much money is provided to each family. In response, Papikyan said the sum varies depending on the number of family members and the size of the apartment.
"In any case, it's enough to buy an apartment in different parts of Yerevan," the minister said.
