Artsakh president reveals reason for dismissal of Kashatagh head
"One of our most important issues in Artsakh will be fire prevention measures. A natural disaster that occurs during the harvest season every year not only causes crop losses, but also damages the vegetation,” Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan said at an online news conference on Friday, noting that the issue is not duly addressed.
According to him, when appointing the minister of emergency situations, he stressed that fire prevention work should be the focus of attention throughout the year.
"I ask our environmentalists to pay close attention to this, because the biggest disaster happens at this time of the year," he said.
In this regard, there have been shortcomings in Kashatagh and Martuni Regions, as a result of which the head of the Kashatagh Regional Administration has been relieved of his post. Artyom Saribekyan has replaced Stepan Sargsyan in the position.
"Let this be an example for all those who will fail to carry out th instructions," he said, adding that appointments will be made mostly among local residents.
According to him, fire prevention work has already started in Martuni, adding the process will be monitored.
