Payments to healthcare workers on the frontline of Covid-19 increased by 2-3 times - PM
Payments to Armenian healthcare workers at the front lines of fighting COVID-19 have been increased by 2-3 times, PM Nikol Pashinyan said on Friday after the regular meeting of the Commandant’s Office.
As Pashinyan detailed, the supplementary payments were made from a special fund of bonuses and workers of ambulance service have also benefited.
As to the demand of specialists in the health system, Pashinyan informed that the ministry of healthcare is recruiting anesthetists and emergency medicine specialists who are in high demand. The ministry has also involved volunteers, clinical residents and other specialists to support the permanent medical staff in hospitals where coronavirus patients are treated.
In Pashinyan’s words, the ministry is currently working to expand the capacity of the country’s intensive care units.
