Armenia may launch manufacturing of firearms from July - deputy minister
The first stage of summer conscription was started in Armenia, Deputy Defense Minister Gabriel Balayan stated on Wednesday during the briefing in parliament. As Balayan informed as part of the medical examination, the recruits will undergo Covid-19 tests upon the recommendation of the doctors.
“Due to the pandemic, number of innovations have been introduced into the process. Parents and relatives of the new recruits will no longer be able to enter the the central recruitment centre. However, at the initiative of the defense ministry, monitors will be installed in all district recruitment centres for the parents to follow live the process,” Balayan said.
Asked about the arms and military equipment production in the country, Balayan said: “We expect to launch production of firearms in Armenia from July.”
