Armenian PM slams violations of anti-coronavirus rules as ‘catastrophe’
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to Facebook live on Wednesday to strongly criticize people for violations of the anti-coronavirus rules, stating the situation has escalated into a catastrophe.
According to Pashinyan, he has had a serious talk to the police and the National Security Service chiefs for not presenting accurately the scale of the problem.
“What I saw with your help is just a catastrophe, I have no other words to describe it. I will reflect on the work of police, but there is no law enforcement agency or administrative system in the world that can deal with an issue of this scale,” he stressed.
Pashinyan confessed that he is in charge of the situation, but added it makes no difference, especially for the people dying from the virus or their families.
“I am saying that I know of no other regime,” he stated.
He pointed to the ‘catastrophic’ situation at banks, markets, schools and post offices, once again urging people to take a step back not to ‘fall into the abyss’.
