Armenia's health minister apologizes for ‘some mistakes’ in coronavirus response
Armenia’s health minister has offered his apologies to people for “some mistakes” made at the beginning of the coronavirus spread in the country.
Speaking at a Facebook live on Wednesday, Arsen Torosyan stressed the Covid-19 infection is new and many questions remain open up to the present.
“We can’t say for sure how many people one patient can infect under normal conditions, whether face masks are helpful or not, whether asymptomatic cases are contagious or not, how long the incubation period is, what drugs are effective for treating the disease, whether the air temperature affects the virus, what will be much needed, ventilators or…” Torosyan said, stating the uncertainly caused delays in the government’s decisions.
The minister stated, however, they have been sincere since the beginning of the outbreak, never covering up the cases. “I consider it one of our strengths not to hide a single thing. Honesty and sincerity have always been and will always be there,” he said.
