Russian gas price to remain unchanged for household consumers
The price of Russian natural gas for household consumers in Armenia will not increase, while number of corporate consumers will pay 4.5% more in average, according to the country’s Public Services Regulatory Commission decision.
The gas price will also remain unchanged for socially vulnerable groups.
Gazprom Armenia, a subsidiary of the Russian Gazprom, earlier applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission with a request to set a new natural gas tariff at $283 per thousand cubic meters, while the Commission suggested to fix the price at $266․7 instead of the current $255, referring to its calculations.
The discussion on Friday confirmed the Commission’s suggestion which will lead the price increase for only corporate consumers.
Gazprom Armenia's chief executive Hrant Tadevosyan told reporters that the gas price increase was aimed at infrastructure development and the Commission’s decision may result in reconsideration of the company’s planned capital expenditure.
