Constitutional Court Judges issue a joint statement
Seven Judges of the Constitutional Court of Armenia have issued a joint statement, expressing concern over recent developments around the Court.
To remind, the Armenian parliament passed on Monday legislation on constitutional changes, calling for the immediate replacement of the Constitutional Court chairman and three judges of Armenia’s top court.
“We, the undersigned Judges of the Constitutional Court, are strongly concerned about recent developments, concerning the Constitutional Court which have also been raised by Armenian and international structures.
We urge all bodies of public authorities to be guided only and exclusively by the Constitution in their decisions and actions. The Constitutional Court continues its work as normal, ensuring the priority of the Constitution,” the statement read, signed by Hrayr Tovmasyan, Alvina Gyulumyan, Felix Tokhyan, Arayik Tunyan, Ashot Khachatryan, Hrant Nazaryan, Arevik Petrosyan.
To note, Constitutional Court Judges Vahe Grigoryan and Arman Dilanyan have not joined the statement.
