Acting head of Armenian State University of Economics steps down
Acting Rector of the Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) Diana Galoyan has tendered her resignation to clear the way for a competition for filling the vacant position.
“As you know, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia has announced a competition for the vacant position of ASUE rector. I am going to take part in the competition, so I have submitted an application to the minister of education, science, culture and sport with a request to terminate my duties as acting rector from July 1,” she said in a statement on Monday.
“Being a candidate for rector, I believe that this will allow for the creation of equal conditions for all candidates preventing further speculation and will contribute to a more transparent and impartial conduct of the announced competition,” Galoyan said.
She expressed deep gratitude to the ministry led by Arayik Harutyunyan, her colleagues and students for fruitful work during her tenure.
Diana Galoyan was selected as acting head of the economics university on 22 August 2019.
