Bellicose rhetoric by Azerbaijan unacceptable - FM Mnatsakanyan
Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan held a video conference on June 30 with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov. As the press service at the foreign ministry reported, the video conference was held with the participation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov (Russia), Stéphane Visconti (France), Andrew Schofer (USA), as well as with Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
“Issues related to the occurred situation in the peace process amid the pandemic was discussed. The foreign minister stressed that the bellicose rhetoric and non-constructive statements by Azerbaijan are unacceptable adding those are damaging the peace process and the commitment to prepare the two people for peace,” the ministry statement read in part.
According to the source, FM Mnatsakanyan stressed the need to continuously ensure the comprehensive security of Artsakh people, including through free and secure movement.
Opportunities of face-to face meeting of the ministers and and the visit of the Co-Chairs to the region was discussed once the situation with pandemic allows.
The parties also expressed readiness to continue interaction through a video conference in the coming month, the source added.
