Second motion to arrest Mikayel Minasyan denied, lawyer says
A Yerevan court has rejected the second motion to arrest Armenia’s former Ambassador to the Vatican Mikayel Minasyan, one of his lawyers, Amram Makinyan, said on Facebook on Monday.
“We will still have a chance to talk about the motion. I can only say for now that it was more illegal and ungrounded that the previous one,” the lawyer wrote.
“Can new motions to arrest Mikayel Minasyan be expected? Yes, of course.
“Will they be more illegal and unfounded than the previous ones? I also have no doubts,” he said.
The lawyer added the Public TV Company and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Armenian service will cover for a second time in a row “the rejection of the motion for Mikayel Minasyan’s arrest due to being unfounded and illegal.”
