Armenian analyst: Azerbaijan has always used civilians as human shields
Azerbaijan has always used its civilian settlements and population as human shields, the Artsakh president’s former security advisor, Henaket analytical center head Tigran Abrahamyan said on Facebook.
“Azerbaijan has always deployed its military equipment in civilian sites, opening fire from there and using its settlements and civilians as human shields,” he wrote.
“This isn’t a new approach. Moreover, there were cases when after the actions to silence the firing points resulted in the damage of public buildings in those settlements, the local residents blamed their military leadership rather than us for the incident,” he stressed.
The analyst expressed conviction that international mediation and humanitarian missions dealing with Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan are aware of this practice of Azerbaijan.
