PM: Coronavirus-related situation has improved in Armenia
The coronavirus-related situation has significantly improved in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a briefing after a meeting at the Commandant’s Office on Wednesday.
"Based on the figures of the past 4-5 days, we can state that we have returned to the level we had at the end of May, in terms of patients in serious condition we have again returned to the level we had at the end of May, while in terms of critically ill patients we are at the level we had at the beginning of June,” he said.
“Of course, this is a relative comparison, because the number of seriously ill and critically ill patients has decreased not only due to recoveries, but also due to deaths. During this period, 723 deaths from coronavirus have been recorded in Armenia. But, obviously, Armenia has embarked on a phase of overcoming coronavirus," the PM said.
Pashinyan states the situation has improved also thanks to the government’s anti-coronavirus measures, including the mandatory rule of wearing face masks.
