Court postpones hearing in case involving Serzh Sargsyan
A court in Yerevan on Thursday had to postpone a hearing in the case involving third Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and several other former officials.
Presiding judge Vahe Misakyan scheduled the next hearing for September 3.
The ex-president, his lawyer Amram Makinyan and another defense lawyer did not attend today’s hearing.
In a petition read out by the judge, Makinyan had asked the court to postpone the hearing since he had taken a Covid-19 test on Thursday morning but the test results had not come back yet.
He also argued that it was impossible to practice social distancing during the court hearing.
