Number of Armenians killed in Beirut blast reaches 13
The number of Armenians killed in the Beirut explosion has today reached 13, the Facebook page of the Armenian community in Lebanon reports.
Earlier 11 Lebanese-Armenians were reported killed in the massive blast that hit the port of Beirut on Tuesday.
The overall death toll from the explosion has climbed to 149. More than 5,000 people have been injured, while over 300,000 others have been left homeless in the wake of the tragedy.
Lebanon's President Michel Aoun said on Wednesday the blast was caused by 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate stored unsafely in a warehouse.
A two-week state of emergency has been declared in Beirut.
