Lebanese cabinet minister Vartine Ohanian demands government’s resignation
Lebanon’s Minister of Youth and Sports Vartine Ohanian is demanding the government’s resignation after the massive Beirut blast which killed at least 158 people and injured thousands of others last week.
The explosion that hit the port of Beirut on 4 August has stirred angry anti-government protests in Lebanon.
In a statement on Monday, the Lebanese-Armenian minister said that she will submit a formal demand for the resignation of Lebanon’s Prime Minister Hassan Diab and his whole government at the upcoming cabinet meeting, Arevelk reported.
Ohanian is the only Armenian member of the Lebanese cabinet.
