Court postpones hearing in case of Robert Kocharyan, three other former officials
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by judge Anna Danibekyan, on Tuesday had to postpone another hearing in the case of Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and three other former top officials.
Mihran Poghosyan, the lawyer of former Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Yuri Khachaturov, failed to attend the hearing due to certain problems. Poghosyan was going to file a motion for the recusal of the presiding judge.
In addition, it turned out that Vardges Gevorgyan had been relieved of his duties as former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gorgyan's lawyer, while his other lawyer, Erik Aleksanyan, would be on vacation from August 12 through September 1.
The court hearing was postponed until September 8.
