Residents of the collapsed building in Yerevan offered temporary accommodation
The residents of the Yerevan building that partially collapsed on Wednesday due to gas explosion are offered temporary accommodation. The instruction has been issued to the respective department of the municipality by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan.
The Mayor has also informed that the specialists will check the seismic stability of the building, and the issue of the reconstruction will be considered based on the results.
The explosion occurred at 07:18 on Wednesday morning in a four-story residential building in Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative district of the capital city. Preliminary data suggests that the gas explosion was recorded in one of the entrances of the building, damaging 12 apartments. 19 people have been pulled out of the rubble. Three residents are injured and hospitalized in Heratsi Hospital complex, one of them in grave condition.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
