Armenian sappers demine 33,143 square meters in Syria in August
Sappers of the fifth Armenian group carrying out humanitarian mission in Syria cleared 33,143 square meters of land in the country in August.
The mission has demined a total of 238,230 square meters so far, the Armenian Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise says.
Doctors of the Armenian humanitarian mission provided medical assistance to 1,273 local residents in August amid the coronavirus restrictions.
Armenian doctors have provided medical care to a total of 16,695 patients from the first day of the mission.
On 29 August the fifth contingent of Armenian doctors was honored with letters of gratitude from the health minister of Aleppo Governorate and the Armenian Evangelical Community of Syria for their professional work.
Coronavirus prevention and disinfection activities are carried out every day at the permanent location of the humanitarian group. Despite a number of restrictions and difficulties caused by the pandemic, the humanitarian group continues to carry out its mission.
