Deputy PM announces launch of Armenian version of Change.org
Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan announced the launch of a unified electronic platform for submitting petitions at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
The unified platform of petitions with the e-petition.am (Armenian lettered հանրագիր.հայ) domain, is the Armenian version of the Change.org platform, the deputy PM said.
Avinyan added that through the e-petitions, people can submit proposals on resolving various economic, political, social and other issues or on improving the current legal regulations.
The deputy PM said that through the platform, citizens can also submit a report on the shortcomings of state and local self-government bodies or officials and present the ways to eliminate them.
"I would like to emphasize that the government will pay close attention to the processes taking place on this platform,” he stressed.
Avinyan said that according to the 2020 United Nations E-Government Development Index, Armenia ranks 68th out of 193 countries, improving its position by 19 points from the previous report.
He added that Armenia is included among the countries with the highest e-Participation Index (EPI) value.
In Avinyan’s words, the involvement of citizens in the decision-making process will be further promoted by e-government tools.
