Henrikh Mkhitaryan: I want to make sure my second season is even better
“I’m very happy to be here now, I’m very happy to have signed a permanent deal with AS Roma. I think I made a good decision, the right decision for myself and my career, and I’m looking forward to another season here,” Armenian national team captain and Roma AS midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has told in an interview with Roma AS.
To remind, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has signed a permanent deal with Roma after terminating his contract with Arsenal by mutual consent.
The 31-year-old Armenian midfielder spent last season on loan with the Italian side, scoring nine goals in 22 Serie A appearances as Roma secured a fifth-place finish.
Asked whether being a permanent member of the team changes the player's mindset, Mkhitaryan noted: “Never. It changes nothing. I’m the same guy. I am the same player, I have the same ambitions – nothing changed. For me it doesn’t matter if I am on loan or have signed a permanent deal: I am always working hard, I am always pushing myself to do my best every day in training and the games. I can just say that I will give everything for the club and to try and do my best in the games and succeed with the team.”
