Armenia’s consumer market sees 1.8% inflation in 12 months
In August 2020, 1.8% inflation was registered in Armenia’s consumer market to compare with August of the past year, while 0.1% deflation is recorded to compare with July of the ongoing year.
According to the figures released by the country’s statistical service, in January - August 2020, the average monthly decrease of consumer prices stood at 0.2% which is down by 0.3% the number recorded in the previous year.
According to the latest figures, for the indicated period food prices alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 1.6%, while the prices for non-food products and services increased by 0.9%.
The fruit and vegetable prices rose by 30.6% to compare with August 2019 data and cut by 4.9% against July 2020.
