Artsakh hero: Independence Day is a call to revalue our path
National Hero of Artsakh Vitaly Balasanyan issued a congratulatory message on Armenia’s Independence Day celebrated on September 21. The message posted on Balasanyan's Facebook page reads:
"Dear compatriots,
Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia – a holiday that was a centuries-old dream of our ancestors and became a reality due to the long-term struggle and unbreakable spirit of the Armenian people.
This day is historic and cherished. In 1991, the Armenian people realized their dream of living independently and freely, being a master of their own destiny, living in peace and overcoming the impacts of the war and blockade, as well as strengthened the foundations of the statehood with a high consciousness and relentless struggle.
In a historically short period of time, our country has implemented unprecedented large-scale reforms in all areas.
From now on, we will take firm and consistent steps aimed at the further strengthening and development of our homeland and ensuring the well-being of our people.
I am confident that we will achieve these lofty goals as a nation, relying on the unity of all sectors of our society, rich traditions and strong faith, because each Armenian realizes the heavy price of gaining independence, his responsibility to maintain it, and each of us has to use our opportunities, knowledge and abilities to contribute to this sacred cause, because only in this way can we build a better future for the people.
Independence Day is a call to revalue the path we have taken, to rebuild our country with new vigor and patriotic deeds. With the glorious message of this holiday, I wish all of us peace and unbreakable will.
God bless Armenia!”
