Robert Kocharyan extends congratulations to Armenians on Independence Day
Second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan issued a congratulatory message on the 29th anniversary of Armenia’s independence celebrated on September 21.
“Today, just a year before the 30th anniversary of our independence, assessing the path we have passed through, we must realize that the no less difficult period of strengthening the Armenian statehood is ahead,” the ex-president said.
“It is obvious that in the modern world we must think at the same time both about modernization and reliable mechanisms for the protection of our national identity. It is necessary to create a realistic program for multilateral development of Armenia; a national program aimed at the future, the implementation of which in the next few years will ensure the well-being of our citizens and the reliable security of Armenia and Artsakh.
"I have no doubt that together we can overcome all the challenges and build the most organized, protected and modern state in the South Caucasus,” the message read.
