Governor of Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province tests positive for coronavirus
Governor of Aragatsotn Province of Armenia Davit Gevorgyan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
Gevorgyan said he got tested for COVID-19 on September 17 after showing some symptoms, and the test results came back positive. On September 19 he passed a double test, and it again produced positive results.
“After examinations I was diagnosed with double pneumonia with some complications of my health condition, and doctors stated that I should continue receiving treatment under medical supervision. I have been hospitalized since September 18,” he wrote.
“I want to thank the heroes of our times – the doctors, all healthcare workers and the hospital staff who do their best for the speedy recovery of all patients,” the governor said, urging people to strictly follow all coronavirus safety rules.
