Three employees of Yerevan orphanage arrested over child abuse
Three employees of an orphanage in Yerevan have been arrested as part of an investigation into alleged abuse of children at the institution.
The preliminary probe has revealed that the employees of the orphanage have regularly abused a group of minors by beating them and causing suffering, the Investigative Committee said in a statement on Wednesday.
They have been charged under Article 119.2 (Points 3 and 5) of the Criminal Code of Armenia (causing strong physical pain or mental suffering to a person).
The preliminary investigation is underway.
Necessary measures are being taken to find out all the circumstances of the incident, the law enforcement agency said.
