Fruit prices rise by 30.2% in Armenia
Prices of fresh and frozen fruits increased by 30.2% in Armenia in August 2020 compared to the same month of 2019, while prices of vegetables rose by 8.8%, new data from the Statistical Committee has shown.
The Consumer Price Index for Armenia in January-August show that prices of some consumer goods increased in the reporting period.
In particular, flour prices grew by 10.7%, prices of rice – by 6.0% and pasta prices – by 5.4%.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and ethanol also rose by 11.7% and 17.8%, respectively.
Meanwhile, solid fuel prices increased by 17.3%.
Costs of pharmaceutical and medical products rose by 1.5% and 8.8%, respectively.
Meanwhile, poultry prices decreased by 13.9% and pork prices fell by 6.9% in August this year against the same month last year. Egg prices dropped by 20.0%, while potato prices fell by 31.7% last month.
