Azerbaijani media swiftly amended own disinformation - Artsakh President's spox
Spokesperson of Artsakh Republic President Vahram Poghosyan commented on Facebook the Azerbaijani media recent disinformation and the swift amendments to it, following the tough reaction of Russia's Foreign Ministry.
"After the tough reaction of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Azerbaijani media swiftly amended its own disinformation released yesterday where it had distorted the words of Russian FM Sergey Lavrov during the meeting with the Speaker of Azerbaijani Milli Majlis and attributed number of anti-Armenian formulations to him regarding the Nagorno Karabakh issues ," Poghosyan wrote.
To remind, according to those reports, Lavrov had allegedly said that Russia advocated for the 'return of five regions surrounding Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan' and that 'Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan impedes the Karabakh peace process.' Official representative at Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova denies the statements attributed to Lavrov and said Lavrov had not made any statements not voiced by him in the past.
"The year-long practice of our neighbors to take the desired for reality ended disgracefully. We can certainly imagine the short-term glee of some of high-level Azerbaijani officials and the following dissappointment. These case, however, may serve an excellent opportunity to realize and reflect on own inability. May be..." Poghosyan added.
