Artsakh's civilian areas, including capital Stepanakert, also under Azerbaijani shelling, official says
Artsakh’s civilian settlements, including capital city Stepanakert, are also being targeted in the active shelling launched by the Azerbaijani military along the entire line of contact since Sunday morning, Artsakh presidential spokesman Vahram Poghosyan said on Facebook.
“Civilian areas, including capital Stepanakert, are also under shelling. We urge the population to take shelter,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Poghosian stressed that the response of the Artsakh army “will be proportionate and the entire responsibility for the situation lies with the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan and personally with Ilham Aliyev.”
Later on Sunday the Artsakh ombudsman reported casualties among the civilian population of Artsakh as a result of the massive Azerbaijani offensives.
