France urges international talks on Karabakh conflict
France said on Tuesday it would call for talks among the ‘Minsk Group’ - which is led by Russia, France and the United States and mediates between Armenia and Azerbaijan - to try to resolve an escalating conflict between the two South Caucasus countries, Reuters reported.
The source reminds that dozens have been reported killed and hundreds wounded since fierce clashes erupted in Karabakh
“We will trigger in the coming days a co-ordination of the Minsk Group to clear up what happened, who is responsible and find a way out,” an official at Macron’s office told Reuters on Tuesday.
To remind, in the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched large-scale air and artillery strikes to the Artsakh-Azerbaijani contact line and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure, including capital Stepanakert. On September 29, the Azerbaijani armed forces attacked the civilian-military infrastructure in Vardenis town and adjacent settlements of the Republic of Armenia, targeting the civilian population.
