Azerbaijan shelling villages in Armenia’s Vardenis
The Azerbaijani troops are currently shelling the villages of Armenia’s Vardenis community, Defense Ministry representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan said on social media.
The Azerbaijani forces shelled a military unit in the town of Vardenis, as well as conducted air strikes on the Armenian military positions earlier on Tuesday, Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan said in a Facebook post.
She said that the Azerbaijani attack came hours after the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry spread another disinformation alleging Armenia had shelled the country’s Dashkesan region from Vardenis.
“The adversary thus attempted to prepare grounds for justifying its further actions,” Stepanyan said, pledging a “harsh response” from the Armenian side.
