Turkish F-16 shoots down Armenian jet in Armenia's airspace - MoD
At 10.30 on September 29, F-16 fighter jets of Turkey's air forces took off from Ganja airport of the Azerbaijani Republic and ensured the shelling of the settlements and military units located in Vardenis, Mets Masrik, Sotk of Vardenis region by Turkish-made Bayraktar UAVs and Azerbaijani Su-25 jets.
As the Spokesperson at Armenian defense ministry Shushan Stepanyan reported, in the mentioned period the units of Armenia's air defense forces were providing air support to the military tasks of own aviation.
While on duty, the Armenian Su-25 jet was shot down by F-16 fighting jet of the Republic of Turkey, Stepanyan said, adding, regretfully, the pilot died heroically.
Turkish F-16 was at the depth of 60km depth and 8200 altitude, Stepanyan added.
