Artsakh downs Azerbaijani combat helicopter, wreckage falls on Iran’s territory
Units of the Artsakh Defense Army on Thursday, October 1, shot down an Azerbaijani combat helicopter in the southern part of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict zone, in the territory of Varazatumb (Lele Tepe), and its wreckage fell on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“The Defense Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh declares that this does not contain any intentionality, and since the hostilities unleashed by Azerbaijan are taking place very close to the Iranian border, such cases are unfortunately inevitable,” the military said.
In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including capital Stepanakert. Seven civilians have been killed in Artsakh as a result of Azerbaijani attacks since the start of hostilities.
