Armenian expert: Commander Karo Jalavyan is really ‘a hero of our times’
A commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, Karo Jalavyan, better known as Kyokh, is really a hero of our times, Tigran Abrahamyan, the head of the Henaket Analytical Center and former security adviser to the Artsakh president, said in a Facebook post on Friday.
The highest title of the Hero of Artsakh was bestowed upon the legendary commander by the Artsakh president’s decision on Thursday.
"He was not awarded the title as a result of only one, two or three days of military operations. He has been on the frontline since 1990s,” the expert said.
Under his command, a joint unit of the Artsakh army liberated 10 positions in the direction of Talish during the 2016 April War, Abrahamyan said.
“A person with high moral values, an honorable soldier, a good father and friend: this is just a modest description of Kyokh," he wrote.
