Armenia downs another Azerbaijani aircraft, two drones
The Armenian air defense forces shot down an Azerbaijani aircraft in the southeastern direction of Artsakh and 2 UAVs in the northern direction on Friday, shortly after 12pm, spokeswoman for the Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan said on Facebook.
“Fighting is raging on in different directions of the frontline, the enemy manpower, armored fighting vehicles, particularly tanks have been destroyed,” she wrote.
Earlier on Friday the spokeswoman said the Armenian air defense units had downed an Azerbaijani aircraft and a drone in the northeastern direction of Artsakh at around 7:55am.
“Fighting continues along the Artsakh border. The attempts of the enemy to break through the defense of our troops in separate parts failed,” she said.
In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including capital Stepanakert. Seven civilians have been killed in Artsakh as a result of Azerbaijani attacks since the start of hostilities.
