Artsakh Defense Army thwarts massive Azerbaijani attack
The Defense Army of Artsakh has successfully thwarted a large-scale attack launched by the Azerbaijani military on Saturday, Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan said.
“In one of the directions, our forces undertook a counterattack. In other flanks heavy defensive battles are going on,” she wrote on Facebook.
Earlier on Saturday, the Artsakh Defense Ministry said the fighting had continued with varying intensity in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict zone overnight.
“The fiercest battles are being fought in the northern and southern directions of the border, where the adversary, engaging new forces in the front, has launched an attack. The units of the Defense Army show heroic resistance, inflicting heavy losses to the adversary,” the ministry said.
A total of three Azerbaijani aircrafts were shot down in the southern direction on Saturday morning.
