Azerbaijan continues to violate all written and unwritten rules of war, says Artsakh army spox
Hostilities are underway along the entire Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line, the Artsakh Defense Army spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Suren Sarumyan told a briefing on Saturday, adding the battles are especially intense in the northern and southern directions of the border.
According to him, the adversary is using its entire arsenal, including UAVs, aviation, armored tank and special units, artillery.
"The Defense Army servicemen, showing truly unprecedented manifestations of heroism, are repelling the attacks of the enemy, standing firm in their positions. The enemy has suffered great losses in manpower and equipment, the exact number of which is being clarified," Sarumyan said.
In the spokesman’s words, Azerbaijan continues to violate all the written and unwritten rules of war, targeting the civilian settlements in the deep rear.
"Today as well, the peaceful settlements have come under shelling, with the civilian objects of Stepanakert hit by rockets too," Sarumyan said.
In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including capital Stepanakert. Artsakh civilians were told to take shelter.
Both Armenia and Artsakh have declared martial law and a general mobilization.
