‘Today our future is being determined’: Artsakh president addresses army special forces
Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan met with servicemen of the Artsakh Defense Army’s Special Purpose Subdivisions before heading to the frontline to fight his part of battle on Friday night.
The Artsakh leader posted a video from the meeting with the special forces on his Facebook page.
“Dear compatriots, we realize this historical moment. Today our future and our right to live in this country are being determined. We must continue the heroic deeds of our ancestors performed for centuries, millennia, together with you today. I want us to realize the importance of this very moment. We are living in the most crucial period of centuries, millennia. We are living in a critical period of having or not having a homeland,” he said, addressing the servicemen.
“We must realize that the future of not only Artsakh, Armenia, but also the Armenian nation depends on each of us,” the president stressed. “I want you all to carry out your service and continue living in this homeland. Rest assured that we will win. We lived through harder times in 1990s, when we had lost most of the territory of Artsakh… We succeeded then, we will succeed today as well. Not only will we resist, but also we will win. Our children’s right to live in a free country is being determined today. We have a mission before our country, our nation and generations.”
Also, Harutyunyan said that he has met with the Yazidi community members, who are also on the frontline to defend the Artsakh borders. The president said the international community is also united today, realizing the great evil which has started in the region.
“Good luck to you all! I shall be with you too, let no one doubt you, for the homeland, for our future,” he concluded.
