Artsakh army destroys 3 Azerbaijani aircrafts, 2 tanks
Units of the Artsakh Defense Army engaged and destroyed on the southern flank three aircrafts and two tanks belonging to the Azerbaijani militray on Sunday, at around 12pm, Armenian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan said.
Earlier on Sunday, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan said that despite numerous warnings, the Azerbaijani terrorist army continues to target the civilian population of the capital Stepanakert using Polonez and Smerch multiple launch rocket systems.
“Military installations permanently located in major cities of Azerbaijan have now become targets of the Defense Army. I call on the people of Azerbaijan to leave these cities as soon as possible to avoid possible casualties,” he wrote on Facebook, adding the whole responsibility for this lies with the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan.
In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including Stepanakert, the towns of Martuni, Martakert and Hadrut. Artsakh civilians were told to take shelter.
Both Armenia and Artsakh have declared martial law and a general mobilization.
