Armenia's Constitutional Court elects new chairman
The Constitutional Court of Armenia has elected Arman Dilanyan as its new chairman, chief of the high court staff Edgar Ghazaryan said on Facebook.
The court held a working meeting on Monday to elect a new chairman and deputy chairman. Judge Arman Dilanyan self-nominated for the post today. Arevik Petrosyan and Ashot Khachatryan had also been nominated as candidates for the Constitutional Court head, but had later withdrawn their candidacy.
Earlier on September 25, the sole candidate nominated for the post, judge Yervand Khundkaryan, was not elected as Constitutional Court chairman as he failed to gain the required number of votes.
