Lavrov: The ceasefire in Karabakh not fully maintained
The agreements reached in Moscow on the ceasefire in Nagorno Karabakh are not fully maintained, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Monday during the meeting with Armenian FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
"Last Friday and throughout Saturday, we spent here, in this building along with our Azerbaijani colleague. An important agreement was reached at the initiative of President Putin. However, we see that the agreement is not fully maintained. The fights still continue," Lavrov said.
The Russian diplomat expressed hope that the ongoing interactions of the Russian side with Armenia and Azerbaijan will result in the full implementation of the agreements around the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
In his remarks, Lavrov noted also that the visit of the Armenian minister comes to discuss bilateral issues as the visit had been planned long ago. However, as the minister said, in light of the ongoing developments, the issue of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict will be in the center of the talks.
