No school should look like this: Red Cross in Armenia condemns Azerbaijani targeting of civilian areas in Artsakh
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia has reflected on the targeting of civilian infrastructure, including schools, in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) by the Azerbaijani military.
“This is not what a school should look like,” Red Cross said on Facebook, sharing photos of Artsakh schools badly damaged as a result of Azerbaijani attacks.
“Hundreds of buildings have been destroyed by heavy artillery fire and missiles during the escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The impact it has on civilians is devastating. We strongly condemn indiscriminate shelling and other alleged unlawful attacks using explosive weaponry in populated areas,” ICRC said.
