Demonstrations in support of Artsakh held in various parts of Germany
The Armenian community of Germany has held numerous demonstrations in support of Artsakh in various German cities, with three of them organized in Berlin, President of the Association of European and Armenian Specialists NGO Mikayel Minasyan said in an interview to Armenians Today on Tuesday.
“The first demonstration was organized by the German-Armenian Central Council, the leadership of the German-Armenian Diocese and the efforts of our organization. It took place right in front of the residence of the German chancellor,” he said.
In Minasyan’s words, they had clear requirements: to prevent a new genocide, to immediately intervene in order to establish peace by bringing Azerbaijan back to the negotiating table and to consider recognizing the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.
In order to support Artsakh, the Armenian community of Germany has made monetary and material donations. According to Minasyan, about 1 ton of humanitarian aid has already been delivered to Armenia from Frankfurt.
“Now we are thinking of organizing a fundraising called “Pies will save lives” together with the church communities, offering to buy pies to make donations and thus unite people,” he said. “In the near future, we will be able to do even more for the Motherland and Artsakh. Everyone's heart is beating for Artsakh and Armenia.”
