14-year-old child injured in Azerbaijani drone attack on Armenia in serious condition
This morning, the Azerbaijani armed forces launched a drone strike at the Vardenis-Sotk civilian community of Gegharkunik Province in Armenia, Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia Arman Tatoyan said on Wednesday.
A 14-year-old child, who was heading to the agricultural civilian field for potato harvest, was wounded as a result of the drone attack and is now in hospital. There were other civilians, including children, in the agricultural civilian field, Tatoyan said.
“I have just dispatched a special mission to the hospital,” the ombudsman wrote on Facebook.
The teenager was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and is currently in the rehabilitation department, according to the Ministry of Health spokeswoman Alina Nikoghosyan. The doctors assess his health condition as serious, she said.
“The child has suffered a fractured chest injury, left hemopneumothorax, right pneumothorax and abdominal rupture,” she said on Facebook.
“The Arzoyan family living in the Vardenis community of Armenia was going to harvest their land as usual this morning when an Azeri UAV struck their car. The 14-year-old son, Narek, had to be rushed to Yerevan in serious condition with a shrapnel wounds and is currently in the resuscitation ward,” the Artsakh InfoCenter said.
