Deployment of peacekeepers in Karabakh possible only with consent of the sides, Peskov says
The deployment of peacekeepers or observers in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone is possible only with the consent of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.
“The primary question here is whether the opposing sides, namely Azerbaijan and Armenia, are ready for this. Any deployment of any peacekeepers, observers – whoever it may be – is possible only with the consent of both sides, ”the Kremlin spokesman said, as quoted by TASS news agency.
To remind, earlier Lavrov said that it would be right to deploy Russian military observers on the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh, but that it was up to Azerbaijan and Armenia to decide.
