Russian FM holds separate meetings with Armenian, Azerbaijani counterparts
Following the recent phone conversations of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held separate meetings with Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Moscow on October 20-21, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Pressing issues concerning the implementation of previous agreements on a ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and the creation of conditions for its sustainable settlement were discussed during the talks," the statement read.
This is Mnatsakanyan's third visit to Russia since the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey against Artsakh on September 27.
During the first visit, the consultations between the three foreign ministers, which lasted more than 11 hours, resulted in an agreement on a humanitarian ceasefire on October 10, at 12pm. However, the humanitarian truce was violated by Azerbaijan immediately after it came into effect.
